Though jewelry designer Nicholas King has a background in clothing design, he began working with jeweler Francesca Amfitheatrof in the late 1990s. More recently he oversaw design and business development at New York based jeweler Alexis Bittar.

His solo debut features gorgeous resin jewelry like this cuff bracelet.
Made of silver studs embedded in resin, this stunning piece is the perfect chunky bracelet for spring and summer. You can buy his designs online at Kabiri, which features an eclectic mix of jewelry into which King’s designs fit perfectly.

King left Europe in 1999 to work for Donna Karan International in New York as a lifestyle buyer for the flagship store on Madison Avenue. He also managed the Donna Karan design team and studio. He has also worked with John Galliano.

With such an extensive background, it is no wonder that King was able to come up with irresistible pieces made of unusual combinations of materials, shapes, and colours. The 2009 solo collection features bracelets, necklaces, and earrings made from found objects like rope, wicker, and even diamante clusters inlaid in clear resin. Their unconventional beauty is bound to make Nicholas King well known as a jewelry designer as well as a clothing designer.
